Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC mills with the following control systems:

Perform setup, tooling, and fixture changes using detailed setup sheets
Machine screw jack components from raw material or intermediate steps to final product
Work with aluminum, bronze, stainless steel, 1045/4140 mild steel, and carbon steel castings
Maintain tolerances between +/– .001” and +/– .005”
Perform manual deburring of straight edges, ID/ODs, and features
Interpret standard and metric blueprints with GD&T callouts (parallelism, flatness, etc.)
Make program edits and modifications as needed based on casting variances
Perform first article inspections, in-process checks, and final inspections
Enter inspection data and measurements into a digital record-keeping system
Use precision tools including:
OD and depth micrometers (up to 12”)
Calipers, height gauges, and edge grinders
Operate a 2-ton overhead crane to load/unload material
Qualifications
Experience operating CNC mills with Fanuc, Mazatrol, or Brother controls
Must be capable of performing program edits (full line edits, not just offsets)
Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
Familiar with machining casted parts and multi-material components
Comfortable using GD&T and working in metric/imperial systems

Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate the following Studer precision grinding machines with Fanuc controls:
- S145 Cylindrical ID Grinder (turret-type with 4 internal grinding spindles)
- S33 Cylindrical OD Grinder (turret wheel head for external grinding)
- S45 Angle Head Grinder
Perform ID and OD grinding operations on parts ranging from 1? to 16? in length and up to 8? in diameter
Grind parts using aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, and CBN wheels (16? diameter)
Work with parts made from stainless steel, aluminum, low carbon steel, and coated materials (E-nickel, anodized, hard coat)
Maintain tolerances down to .0003? and achieve surface finishes of 16 or better (with some work requiring 8 or 4 finishes)
Load parts manually (2–10 lbs.) from shelves or previous operations
Follow detailed setup sheets, process drawings, and blueprints with GD&T callouts including runout, position, profile, and perpendicularity
Conduct in-process and final quality checks using tools such as:
Micrometers, calipers, Starrett optical comparator, height gauges
Indicator setups, swede gages, plug gauges, pin gauges, and gage blocks

Requirements
- 5-axis HBM machining experience is required
- Must have experience using Fanuc controls

- Strong knowledge of GD&T, surface finishes (32, 63, 125), and standard machining practices
- Ability to make offsets and tooling swaps (2 to 7 swaps per setup)
- Must supply your own precision tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.)
- Comfortable working from setup sheets, blueprints, and tool lists
- Experience with forged components is a plus
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
