CNC Lathe Machinist

FlexTrades is hiring CNC Lathe Machinists for project-based assignments supporting advanced precision machining operations across the United States. This role is built for machinists who can manage complex setups, run multi-axis equipment independently, and hold extreme tolerances in fast-paced production environments.

If you are comfortable operating dual turret and dual spindle lathes, reading and editing G-code, and inspecting precision components down to half a thousandth, this is your lane.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC horizontal lathes with multi-axis capabilities, dual turrets, dual spindles, and live tooling
• Run two machines simultaneously with different setups and production requirements
• Perform machine setups including tooling, jaws, offsets, and machine adjustments
• Read and make basic edits to G-code programs as required
• Machine complex components to tight tolerances, including ±0.0005 inch requirements
• Read and interpret blueprints and work independently from setup sheets and production documentation
• Perform first article and in-process inspections using established quality procedures
• Measure and inspect parts using CMMs, micrometers, calipers, gauges, and related precision tools

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC lathes with live tooling, dual turrets, and dual spindles required
• Experience with Fanuc controls required
• Ability to read and edit G-code programs
• Strong setup and changeover experience
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge required
• Ability to hold tight tolerances, including ±0.0005 inch
• Strong inspection and measurement skills
• Experience with DMG Mori, Okuma, or Mazak machines preferred
• Three-turret machining experience is a plus
