CMM Programmer
FlexTrades is hiring experienced CMM Programmers for nationwide project-based assignments supporting precision manufacturing and quality inspection operations.
This opportunity is designed for programmers with recent CMM experience, strong GD&T knowledge and the ability to create and modify inspection programs for precision machined components.
Position Overview
The CMM Programmer will program and operate Mitutoyo coordinate measuring machines using M-Cosmos software while supporting first-piece, in-process, final, receiving and assembly inspections.
This role requires offline CMM programming experience, strong blueprint and GD&T interpretation skills and hands-on experience performing dimensional inspections using both CMM equipment and manual inspection tools.
Responsibilities
- Program and operate Mitutoyo CMMs using M-Cosmos software
- Perform first-piece inspections
- Complete in-process and final inspections
- Conduct receiving and assembly inspections
- Create and modify CMM programs
- Use teach/learn programming methods
- Perform offline CMM programming
- Interpret complex blueprints
- Review CAD models and GD&T requirements
- Complete first article inspections
- Support FAIR documentation
- Review receiving inspection documentation
- Review supplier quality records
- Perform dimensional inspections using manual inspection tools and gauges
- Document inspection results
- Maintain accurate quality records
- Identify nonconforming materials
- Create NCR documentation
- Support production teams by verifying quality requirements and compliance
Qualifications
- Recent experience as a CMM Programmer/Operator in a manufacturing environment
- Offline CMM programming experience
- Strong understanding of GD&T
- Ability to interpret complex blueprints
- Experience performing dimensional inspections on precision machined parts
- Experience completing first article inspections
- Experience maintaining quality documentation
- Proficiency with calipers
- Proficiency with micrometers
- Proficiency with bore gauges
- Proficiency with indicators and related inspection tools
- Ability to work with metric measurements
- Ability to work with imperial measurements
- Basic computer skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
- M-Cosmos programming experience
- Ability to perform or learn joystick teach/learn programming
