CNC Machinist
FlexTrades is hiring CNC Machinists for nationwide project-based assignments supporting high-mix, low-volume job shop environments. This role is built for machinists who can take ownership of full setups, move confidently between jobs, and keep quality tight without constant oversight. Responsibilities
- Independently set up and operate CNC machining centers in a job shop environment
- Perform efficient job changeovers and full production setups
- Follow established process documentation, routers, and control plans
- Prepare machines for production including tool loading and workholding
- Run proven programs and make necessary offset adjustments
- Complete first piece and in-process inspections
- Document inspection results and ensure quality standards are met
- Identify and communicate quality, process, or equipment issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Qualifications
- Several years of experience operating CNC machining centers
- Strong background working in a high-mix, low-volume job shop environment
- Proven ability to complete setups and changeovers independently
- Experience performing and documenting quality inspections
- Solid understanding of quality standards with strong attention to detail
- Reliable, self-directed, and able to prioritize production demands
- Required to supply and maintain personal tools
