CNC Programmer Jobs Nationwide

FlexTrades is hiring CNC Programmers for nationwide project-based manufacturing assignments.

This opportunity is built for experienced CNC professionals who can create and optimize programs, set up and prove out machines, troubleshoot machining issues, and support the production of complex precision components.

Candidates should be comfortable working from engineering drawings and 3D models, collaborating with manufacturing teams, and maintaining tight quality standards throughout the machining process.

Position Overview

The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing CNC programs using CAM software, generating and refining G-code, supporting machine setup and prove-out, and helping ensure machined parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.

This role combines programming, machining, inspection, troubleshooting, and process improvement in a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create CNC programs using CAM software
  • Generate and optimize G-code for complex machined components
  • Set up, operate, and prove out CNC machines
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to verify quality requirements
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and programming issues
  • Adjust programs and machining processes to improve quality, efficiency, and cycle time
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve production processes
  • Document programming notes, setup information, and process changes
  • Maintain accurate and organized CNC program files
  • Support the production of complex metal parts with tight tolerances
  • Follow established safety, quality, and production standards

Qualifications

  • Experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines
  • Proficiency with CAM software and G-code programming
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models
  • Experience machining complex metal parts to tight tolerances
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of multi-axis machining is preferred
  • Knowledge of GD&T is preferred
  • Ability to work accurately with standard and metric measurements
  • Strong attention to detail and process control
