FlexTrades is hiring experienced CNC EDM Operators for contract positions in Illinois, Iowa, and Indiana. This role offers competitive pay, consistent overtime, and the opportunity to work on cutting-edge CNC EDM machining projects with leading manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC EDM machines efficiently and safely.
- Prep and clean fixtures, load parts into fixtures or carousels.
- Enter data into machine controls and monitor EDM machining processes.
- Remove slugs from parts and ensure quality control standards are met.
- Perform routine maintenance, including rotating contacts, loading new wires, and cleaning machine interiors.
- Work with aluminum and stainless steel parts.
- GF series EDM machine experience is a plus.
Qualifications
- Prior EDM operation experience required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to commit to traveling for assignments (3 months to 1 year).
- Comfortable working 2nd and 3rd shifts with overtime (50+ hours per week).
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $31/hour + guaranteed overtime (paid at time and a half).
- Per diem: $45/day (7 days per week).
- Travel & lodging: Paid travel expenses and single-occupancy hotel room provided.
