Position Summary

As a Debug Technician with FlexTrades, you will troubleshoot and debug complex computer hardware systems housed in large compute/server racks. You’ll run automated tests, interpret Linux-based outputs, and resolve hardware-related issues in live production environments. This role is ideal for tech-savvy professionals with a background in IT infrastructure, hardware repair, or systems analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run automated diagnostic tests on server racks, using provided test equipment and digital instructions
  • Interpret and troubleshoot hardware failures based on test output data
  • Debug using Linux command-line operations to trace root causes of communication issues between firmware and hardware
  • Replace or reroute hardware components (e.g., cables, boards) for simple fixes
  • Escalate complex issues to in-house production teams or Test Engineers as needed
  • Use provided Debug Scripts to guide step-by-step hardware troubleshooting
  • Work directly on 6–7 foot server cabinets, occasionally using a step stool to access higher areas
  • Manage up to 100 server racks containing hundreds of hardware components
  • Reference system diagrams, documentation, and debug guides stored electronically
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure hardware systems pass all final validation checks

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, components, and connectivity
  • Hands-on experience debugging firmware-level issues
  • Proficiency in Linux OS and ability to use Linux-based command language for diagnostics
  • Experience troubleshooting multi-computer environments across large networks or enterprise-scale IT systems
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate automated test failures and interpret system-level messages
  • Understanding of how operating systems manage communication between hardware and software
  • Comfortable working at height from a step ladder when necessary

Preferred Backgrounds

  • IT support roles in enterprise-level or multi-location corporate environments
  • Debug or repair roles within server farms, data centers, or systems integrators
  • Technical certifications in Linux, CompTIA, or network hardware are a plus

Position Summary

As an I&E Technician with FlexTrades, you’ll calibrate, test, and troubleshoot production instrumentation and support electrical maintenance at newly commissioned manufacturing sites. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of startup operations where your expertise directly contributes to production reliability and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test and calibrate a wide range of instrumentation including:
  • Frequency drives
  • Humidity, temperature, weight/scale, pressure, and flow sensors
  • Thermal imaging tools, cameras, and level sensors
  • Support instrumentation on production equipment such as Tetra Pak, separators, homogenizers, and mixers used in dairy and cheese production
  • Replace or repair faulty instrumentation and support electrical repairs alongside in-house maintenance techs
  • Assist with the commissioning of new production equipment and instrumentation systems
  • Troubleshoot Allen Bradley and Siemens instrumentation hardware
  • Interface with pick & place Fanuc robots; experience with robotic systems is a plus
  • Calibrate instruments to required specifications and make adjustments as needed
  • Work within PLC systems for troubleshooting (no editing or programming required)
  • Reference and utilize machine manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics during repairs
  • Operate within a SAP CMMS and MES platforms (Ignition and Wonderware)
  • Interpret verbal instructions and document completed work accurately
  • Maintain compliance with FDA and GMP regulations

    Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with pasteurization processes or dairy production environments
  • Prior experience in newly commissioned or greenfield facilities
  • Hands-on work in MES and CMMS environments, especially Ignition and Wonderware
  • Exposure to SAP maintenance systems and work order tracking

    Must-Have Qualifications

  • Proven experience in an FDA/GMP regulated facility
  • Strong background in industrial instrumentation and electrical systems
  • Ability to work independently and think critically in dynamic environments
  • Willingness to assist with commissioning activities and troubleshoot new equipment
  • Flexibility to travel and work various shifts as required

    Job Summary

    As a Test Engineer with FlexTrades, you’ll be the go-to expert for identifying and resolving system-level issues that Debug Techs, Test Techs, and Production teams are unable to solve. This role focuses on deep hardware troubleshooting, firmware diagnostics, Linux command-line operations, and Python-based scripting. You’ll also be responsible for creating detailed documentation to support future resolution efforts.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Troubleshoot and resolve failures that lower-level Test and Debug Techs cannot solve
    • Analyze and identify root causes of hardware, firmware, or system-level issues
    • Support teams in diagnosing and documenting complex issues across multiple systems
    • Work with Linux operating systems and command-line environments daily
    • Write, modify, and execute Python scripts for diagnostic, automation, and test purposes
    • Interpret and update schematics, debug scripts, test procedures, and WIKIs
    • Guide lower-level engineers through issue analysis and problem-solving
    • Conduct system tests and evaluate computer hardware functionality, startup behavior, and firmware operations
    • Document resolutions to recurring issues and update work instructions, troubleshooting guides, and test protocols
    • Use engineering root cause tools such as SPC, CAPA, Fishbone, 5 Whys, Pareto, and fault tree analysis

    Candidate Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, electronics, or related field (required)
    • Expert-level experience in Linux OS and Linux command-line operations
    • Strong proficiency in the Python programming language
    • In-depth understanding of computer hardware, including components and system interactions
    • Familiarity with computer firmware and automated hardware diagnostic processes
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
    • Strong documentation skills for technical processes and troubleshooting procedures
    • Proven experience using root cause analysis methodologies
    • Knowledge of SPC and other quality/process control tools
    • Must be able to pass a drug test
    • Willing to travel for long-term assignments (3 to 12 months)
    • Available for 2nd or 3rd shift with 50+ hours/week
