ReTool Welder
FlexTrades is hiring ReTool Welders for nationwide project-based manufacturing assignments supporting robotic welding, MIG weld repair and production operations.
This role is designed for entry-level and developing welders who have completed formal welding training and are ready to apply those skills in a production environment. The position combines robotic welding, weld inspection, MIG repair work and material handling.
Position Overview
The ReTool Welder will load and unload parts into robotic welding fixtures, operate multiple robotic welders and inspect finished welds for quality.
This position also involves MIG weld repairs, grinding and finishing, equipment checks and production tracking while following established work instructions and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload parts into robotic welding fixtures
- Operate and monitor two robotic welders simultaneously
- Inspect completed welds for quality and accuracy
- Perform MIG weld repairs and touch-ups as needed
- Grind and finish welds to meet quality requirements
- Compare completed welds against visual samples and inspection guidelines
- Complete pre-operation checks on robotic welding equipment
- Record production information and part counts in the tracking system
- Operate electric hoists to move materials and components
- Follow established work instructions
- Follow required safety procedures throughout production
Qualifications
- Graduate of a welding trade, technical or vocational program
- MIG welding training or educational experience
- Ability to perform flat welds
- Ability to perform horizontal welds
- Ability to perform vertical welds
- Ability to inspect weld quality and identify defects
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and procedures
- Comfortable working in a repetitive manufacturing environment
- Willingness to learn and operate multiple robotic welders
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic welding experience
- Robotic welding experience
- Experience using grinders
- Experience using basic hand tools
