Welder

FlexTrades is hiring experienced Welders for nationwide project-based assignments supporting manufacturing, metal fabrication, and production welding operations.

This role is designed for skilled tradespeople with hands-on MIG and TIG welding experience who can work with carbon steel, interpret blueprints and weld symbols, and produce quality welds in multiple positions.

Position Overview

The Welder will perform MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel components, supporting fabrication and assembly operations in a manufacturing environment.

This position requires strong welding fundamentals, the ability to read technical drawings, and experience welding in multiple positions, including vertical and overhead.

Responsibilities include fitting, tacking, welding, grinding, finishing, and inspecting fabricated assemblies while following established safety and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel components
• Fit, tack, and weld assemblies according to specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and weld symbols
• Perform welding in multiple positions, including vertical and overhead
• Inspect completed welds to verify quality and compliance with specifications
• Measure and verify fabricated components using appropriate inspection tools
• Grind and finish welds as required
• Operate cranes and material-handling equipment safely
• Follow established welding procedures and quality standards
• Maintain compliance with workplace safety requirements

Required Qualifications

• MIG welding experience
• TIG welding experience
• Experience welding carbon steel components
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols
• Experience fitting and fabricating welded assemblies
• Ability to weld in multiple positions, including vertical and overhead
• Experience using measuring and inspection tools
• Ability to follow welding specifications and quality requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Manufacturing or production welding experience
