Maintenance / Millwright
FlexTrades is hiring experienced Maintenance / Millwright professionals for nationwide project-based assignments supporting heavy industrial maintenance, equipment repair and plant operations.
This role is designed for highly skilled mechanical maintenance professionals who can troubleshoot production equipment, perform machinery rebuilds and overhauls, and support installation, rigging and alignment work in demanding industrial environments.
Position Overview
The Maintenance / Millwright will perform preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance on industrial machinery and production equipment.
This position requires strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience with industrial components and the ability to safely support equipment installations, rebuilds, shutdowns and alignment activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on industrial equipment
- Perform predictive maintenance activities
- Complete reactive maintenance and emergency repairs
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems
- Maintain production machinery and industrial equipment
- Assemble and disassemble machinery
- Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Read schematics and equipment manuals
- Support equipment installations
- Support machinery rebuilds and overhauls
- Assist with shutdown and maintenance projects
- Perform rigging activities
- Complete equipment alignment work
- Perform laser alignment
- Inspect equipment and identify mechanical issues
- Recommend follow-up repairs as needed
- Work with bearings and gearboxes
- Troubleshoot hydraulic systems
- Troubleshoot pneumatic systems
- Operate forklifts after required training
- Operate overhead cranes
- Use scissor lifts and other material handling equipment as required
- Follow established safety procedures in heavy industrial environments
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Experience performing preventive maintenance
- Experience performing reactive maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Experience with rigging and equipment installation
- Experience performing laser alignment
- Strong understanding of bearings and gearboxes
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Strong knowledge of pneumatic systems
- Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Eight or more years of Millwright or industrial mechanical maintenance experience
- Experience working in steel mills
- Experience working in pipe mills
- Experience working in aluminum extrusion facilities
- Experience in similar heavy industrial environments
- Basic machining experience including drilling and grinding
- Basic stick welding experience
