Machine Operator
FlexTrades is hiring Machine Operators for nationwide project-based manufacturing assignments supporting hose assembly, crimping, cutting, packaging and production operations.
This role is designed for dependable production professionals who are comfortable operating manual and semi-automated equipment, completing tooling changeovers and performing quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
Position Overview
The Machine Operator will support crimping, hose assembly and packaging operations using manual production machines, saws and related equipment.
This position involves machine setup, tooling changes, product measurement, quality inspection, material handling and packaging while following established work instructions and production standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment within crimping or hose assembly and packaging areas
- Crimp steel fittings onto hose assemblies using manual production machines
- Perform machine setups using established templates and work instructions
- Complete tooling changeovers as required
- Use calipers to verify tooling setups and product measurements
- Perform first-piece inspections
- Complete in-process quality inspections
- Perform last-piece inspections
- Assemble hoses using hand-operated and machine-assisted processes
- Operate automated and semi-automated saws to cut hose to required lengths
- Package finished products
- Label boxes and prepare completed products for shipment or storage
- Operate overhead cranes and hoists when handling heavier materials or supporting saw operations
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform 5S activities
- Complete operator-level machine maintenance
Qualifications
- Ability to operate manual production equipment and machinery
- Ability to follow written work instructions and templates
- Ability to perform quality inspections and document results
- Ability to perform repetitive manual production work
- Ability to use basic hand tools including Allen wrenches and impact drills
- Ability to push, pull, move and handle production materials throughout the shift
- Ability to work while sitting or standing depending on workstation requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
- Experience using measuring tools such as calipers
- Experience operating overhead cranes, hoists or similar equipment
