Blanchard Machinist
FlexTrades is hiring experienced Blanchard Machinists for nationwide project-based assignments supporting precision machining and manufacturing operations.
This opportunity is designed for machinists with recent CNC experience, strong blueprint and GD&T knowledge, and hands-on experience setting up and operating multi-axis machining centers.
Position Overview
The Blanchard Machinist will set up and operate CNC machining centers to produce precision aluminum components while maintaining dimensional accuracy and quality requirements.
This role requires experience with CNC mill setup, 4-axis or 5-axis machining, machine offsets, first article inspections and precision measurement.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machining centers
- Perform machine offsets and process adjustments
- Machine precision aluminum components to specification
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Interpret and apply GD&T requirements
- Complete first article inspections
- Perform in-process quality checks
- Document inspection results
- Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions
- Deburr machined components as required
- Follow work instructions
- Follow tooling information and production requirements
- Maintain a safe and organized work area
Qualifications
- Two or more years of recent CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience setting up and operating CNC mills
- 4-axis or 5-axis machining experience
- Ability to perform machine offsets and adjustments
- Blueprint reading experience
- Knowledge and application of GD&T
- Quality inspection experience
- Experience using micrometers
- Experience using calipers
- Experience using precision measuring tools
- Fanuc controller experience accepted
Preferred Qualifications
- Okuma machining center experience
- Okuma controller experience
