Process Technician
FlexTrades is hiring experienced Process Technicians for nationwide project-based assignments supporting extrusion blow molding and high-volume manufacturing operations.
This opportunity is designed for technicians who can monitor multiple production lines, troubleshoot process and equipment issues, complete quality inspections and support operators throughout the shift.
Position Overview
The Process Technician monitors extrusion blow molding machines and supporting equipment to maintain efficient production and consistent product quality.
This role requires hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, equipment troubleshooting and quality inspections. Process Technicians will also support auxiliary equipment, packaging automation and operators while moving between multiple production lines as priorities change.
Responsibilities
- Monitor extrusion blow molding machines and supporting equipment
- Identify and help resolve machine, process and downtime issues
- Perform color changes as required
- Change neck tooling when needed
- Conduct hourly dimensional, weight and visual quality inspections
- Document inspection results on paper quality records
- Monitor packaging robots
- Clear equipment alarms and jams
- Restart packaging equipment as required
- Inspect water hoses and replace damaged hoses
- Replace other consumable components as needed
- Support blenders, loaders and color feeders
- Support grinders and packing automation
- Move between multiple production lines
- Monitor overall line performance
- Mentor operators on basic process adjustments
- Support operators with troubleshooting and process best practices
- Follow established safety, quality and production procedures
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Process Technician experience required
- Experience operating or supporting extrusion blow molding equipment
- Experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes and equipment
- Ability to perform quality inspections
- Ability to document inspection results accurately
- Ability to support multiple production lines
- Ability to prioritize changing production requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with HDPE manufacturing processes
- Experience with Uniloy extrusion blow molding machines
- Experience with older Uniloy reciprocating equipment
- Bilingual Spanish and English communication skills
