Painter / Powder Coater
FlexTrades is hiring experienced Painters / Powder Coaters for nationwide project-based manufacturing assignments supporting metal finishing and production operations.
This role is designed for candidates who can prepare fabricated metal components, apply powder coat finishes, inspect completed work and maintain coating quality throughout the production process.
Position Overview
The Painter / Powder Coater will prepare, coat and inspect fabricated metal components using powder-coating equipment.
This position involves part preparation, masking, coating application, thickness verification, rework and equipment cleaning while following established safety, quality and production requirements.
Responsibilities
- Apply powder coat finishes to fabricated metal components
- Operate powder-coating equipment
- Load, unload and stage parts throughout the coating process
- Prepare components prior to coating
- Mask surfaces and plug holes when required
- Monitor coating coverage and finish quality during application
- Identify coating defects, contamination and missed areas
- Verify coating thickness using a digital thickness gauge
- Perform rework when required to meet quality standards
- Clean powder guns and maintain coating equipment
- Operate pallet jacks
- Assist with material movement as required
- Follow established safety procedures
- Wear required protective equipment throughout coating operations
Qualifications
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to inspect finished coatings for quality and coverage
- Experience using measuring tools or inspection equipment
- Ability to follow work instructions and production requirements
- Comfortable using overhead hoists and material handling equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop and crouch
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

- Powder coating experience
