Mold Repair Welder
FlexTrades is hiring Mold Repair Welders for project-based assignments supporting rotomolding and custom fabrication environments. This role is built for welders who can move beyond repetitive work and handle real repairs. Cracks, wear, misalignment, structural damage. You fix it, not patch it.
If you are comfortable switching between MIG and TIG, working on steel and aluminum, and solving problems that do not come with instructions, this is your lane.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repair work on rotomolding molds as directed
- MIG weld mild steel and TIG weld cast aluminum components
- Repair cracks, gouges, fit-up issues, clamps, and structural damage
- Build up material in worn or damaged areas to restore functionality
- Operate shop equipment including saws, drill presses, CNC vertical mills, grinders, and polishing tools
- Finish mold interiors to a smooth, polished surface
- Safely operate overhead hoists, jibs, and cranes
- Document completed work using Excel
- Maintain a strong focus on quality, safety, and workmanship
Qualifications
- Experience with MIG welding steel and TIG welding aluminum
- Ability to adjust weld settings based on material type and repair requirements
- Experience using fabrication and machining equipment
- Rotomolding mold repair experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Ability to perform non-routine, custom repair work
- Basic computer skills, including Excel
- Willingness to learn site-specific processes
- Must bring your own welding helmet or notify FlexTrades if unavailable
