Machine Builder
FlexTrades is hiring Machine Builders for project-based assignments supporting precision equipment assembly and rebuild operations. This role is built for technicians who understand mechanical systems, can read prints and schematics, and take ownership of complex builds from start to finish.
If you are comfortable working with hydraulics, assembling large machines, and solving problems as you build, this is your lane.
Responsibilities
- Assemble high-precision rotary transfer machines
- Perform mechanical and hydraulic assembly of machine systems
- Install components including spindles, rails, bearings, screws, motors, valves, hoses, and tubing
- Build and install custom machine options such as loaders, unloaders, and part handling systems
- Cut, bend, crimp, and route hydraulic tubes and hoses using schematics
- Drill and tap holes and assist with machine mounting and anchoring
- Operate overhead cranes and basic shop equipment
- Work from BOMs, blueprints, hydraulic schematics, and verbal instructions
Qualifications
- Experience as a Machine Builder or Maintenance Technician
- Strong mechanical assembly and hydraulic system experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, BOMs, and hydraulic schematics in metric format
- Experience with hydraulic tubing and hose installation; tube bending experience is a plus
- Familiarity with hydraulic hose fabrication including cutting and crimping
- Manual machining experience or machine rebuild and overhaul experience preferred
- Experience operating overhead cranes or willingness to learn
