Maintenance Technician
FlexTrades is hiring experienced Maintenance Technicians for nationwide project-based assignments supporting industrial equipment maintenance and manufacturing operations.
This role is designed for technicians with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills who can diagnose equipment failures, perform preventive and reactive maintenance, and work across hydraulic, pneumatic and PLC-controlled systems.
Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment and industrial systems in a manufacturing environment.
This position requires hands-on experience with mechanical systems, 480V 3-phase electrical equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics and PLC ladder logic, along with the ability to diagnose problems when equipment documentation is limited.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems
- Troubleshoot hydraulic equipment
- Diagnose and repair pneumatic systems
- Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment
- Complete reactive maintenance and equipment repairs
- Diagnose machine issues using electrical meters and troubleshooting techniques
- Read and interpret PLC ladder logic for equipment troubleshooting
- Maintain conveyors and production equipment
- Maintain welders and shears
- Maintain presses and cranes
- Complete maintenance work orders
- Document maintenance activities
- Perform equipment inspections
- Identify potential equipment reliability improvements
- Rebuild or repair machine components as needed
- Operate forklifts when required
- Operate overhead cranes when required
- Follow established safety procedures in an industrial environment
Qualifications
- Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience
- Electrical troubleshooting experience
- Experience working with 480V 3-phase electrical systems
- Hydraulic troubleshooting and repair experience
- Pneumatic troubleshooting and repair experience
- Ability to read and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic
- Experience using a digital multimeter
- Understanding of AC drives and motors
- Understanding of DC drives and motors
- Ability to work independently with limited documentation

- Welding experience
