SMT Operator
FlexTrades is hiring SMT Operators for project-based assignments supporting PCB inspection, SMT operations and electronics manufacturing quality. This role is built for detail-oriented operators who can perform AOI inspections, identify SMT defects, support rework and help ensure boards meet IPC and customer quality requirements.

Position Overview
SMT Operators will perform automated optical inspections on SMT boards, review defects, determine pass, fail or rework status and support manual inspection and rework activity. This role requires strong attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination and the ability to make quick, accurate quality decisions.
Responsibilities
- Perform AOI inspections on SMT boards using automated equipment
- Review defects and determine pass, fail or rework status
- Conduct manual visual inspections to ensure quality
- Identify SMT defects
- Perform hand soldering and rework, including lead and lead-free soldering
- Support SMT operations and troubleshoot issues as needed
- Work with small, fine-pitch components
- Help improve SMT processes
Qualifications
- IPC certification preferred, including IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001, active or inactive
- Strong knowledge of IPC standards and PCB quality requirements
- Class 2 PCB experience required
- Class 3 PCB experience preferred
- AOI and SMT inspection experience
- Hand soldering and rework skills
- Ability to identify defects and make quick, accurate decisions
- Strong attention to detail
- Good hand-eye coordination
