Mill Turn Machinist
FlexTrades is hiring Mill Turn Machinists for project-based assignments supporting high-volume precision manufacturing operations. This role is built for machinists who can manage complex multi-axis equipment, execute clean setups, and keep production moving without sacrificing quality.
If you are comfortable running Okuma mill turn platforms, handling changeovers, and holding tight tolerances in a fast-paced environment, this is your lane.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate mill turn machining centers
- Run and monitor production using machine controls and production documentation
- Operate multi-axis equipment with live tooling capabilities
- Perform routine machine setups and changeovers
- Maintain efficient production flow across high-volume manufacturing operations
- Machine aluminum and steel components across a variety of part sizes and configurations
- Monitor part quality throughout production and make required adjustments
- Ensure completed parts meet dimensional and quality standards
Qualifications
- Required experience with Okuma machines and Okuma controllers
- Strong setup and changeover experience, preferably on mill turn equipment
- Experience operating multi-axis machining equipment, including 7-axis machines
- Dual turret experience highly preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment
- Ability to hold tight tolerances, including ±0.001 inch
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
