CNC Programmer
FlexTrades is hiring experienced CNC Programmers for nationwide, project-based assignments supporting advanced manufacturing and precision machining operations across the United States. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled programmers with Esprit experience and strong multitasking lathe knowledge to take on challenging, high-impact work while traveling and earning top pay.
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our advanced manufacturing team. This role focuses on programming complex multitasking lathe operations using Okuma machines and Esprit software, with the goal of streamlining production and maximizing machine capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Okuma B300 Multus and LB3000 machines with live tooling (up to 120 tools), using OSP-P500 and OSP-P300 controls
- Create CNC programs offline using Esprit CAM from CREO Parametric 3D models (STEP files)
- Apply macro programming and optimize setups by combining mill-turn operations
- Configure machine features like CAS, tool monitoring, and probing (Renishaw) for automation and inspection
- Evaluate workholding and setup efficiency for various metal materials and part types
- Simulate programs in Vericut (preferred) and maintain setup sheets
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth program handoff
Qualifications
- Proven experience programming Okuma multitasking lathes
- Proficiency in Esprit CAM software and CREO Parametric workflows
- Strong understanding of GD&T, precision machining, and CNC operations
- Experience with Vericut and Renishaw probing is highly desirable
Preferred Skills
- Experience with macro programming and automation setups
- Familiarity with tool offset automation, tool breakage detection, and machine safety protocols
- Ability to manage complex part geometries and material variations
