CNC HBM Machinist
FlexTrades is hiring CNC HBM Machinists for nationwide project-based assignments supporting large-format machining and precision manufacturing operations. This role is built for machinists who understand horizontal boring mills, can manage setups independently, and hold tight tolerances on heavy components without constant oversight.
If you are comfortable working from prints, applying GD&T, and inspecting your own work to meet strict quality standards, this opportunity aligns with your skill set.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate horizontal boring mills to machine large components
- Work independently using job travelers, blueprints, and production documentation
- Apply GD&T principles across all machining operations
- Machine carbon steel and stainless steel parts, including shafts and heavy components
- Perform and document required inspections, including first article inspections
- Inspect completed parts to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with specifications
- Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts for material handling (training provided)
- Maintain personal tooling and support overall machine and workspace organization
Qualifications
- Experience setting up and operating horizontal boring mills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements
- Ability to inspect your own work with a high level of accuracy
- Comfortable working independently in a production environment
- Experience machining carbon steel and stainless steel materials
- Proficient with precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges
- Ability to safely operate lifting equipment or complete required training
