Repair Welder
FlexTrades is hiring Repair Welders for project-based assignments supporting heavy manufacturing operations. This role is built for welders who can perform FCAW repairs, remove defects, grind and prep surfaces, follow metric work instructions, and meet quality standards in a production environment.
If you have experience with flux core welding, gouging, grinding, and 3G vertical weld positions, this opportunity is a strong fit.
Responsibilities
- Perform weld repairs using Flux Core, FCAW
- Remove defects using carbon arc, flame, or plasma gouging
- Grind and prep surfaces for repair, with significant grinding required
- Re-weld and finish weld or surface defects
- Follow work instructions and metric measurements
- Weld in flat, horizontal, and vertical, 3G, positions
- Use overhead crane to move and position materials, with training provided
- Meet quality standards and complete basic repair documentation
Qualifications
- Experience with carbon arc, flame, or plasma gouging
- Proficiency in Flux Core, FCAW, welding
- Ability to weld in 3G vertical position
- Comfortable working with metric measurements
- Willingness to perform extensive grinding work
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with weld repair in heavy manufacturing
- Familiarity with NDT methods including VT, MT, and UT
- Experience operating overhead cranes, with training provided
