TIG Welder

FlexTrades is hiring experienced TIG Welders for nationwide project-based manufacturing assignments supporting stainless-steel fabrication operations.
This role is built for skilled welders who can fit, tack, weld, grind and finish stainless-steel tanks, vessels and skids while working from blueprints, weld symbols and fabrication drawings.
Position Overview
The TIG Welder is responsible for stainless-steel fabrication, welding and finishing work using 304 and 316 stainless steel.
This position requires strong fitting and fabrication skills, the ability to work with sheet and plate materials, and the precision needed to produce high-quality welds and cosmetic finishes.
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding on stainless-steel tanks, vessels and skids
- Fit, tack and assemble components to specification
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Read and interpret weld symbols and fabrication drawings
- Perform grinding and finishing operations
- Produce high-quality welds and cosmetic finishes
- Operate grinders and related finishing tools
- Support material handling using overhead and jib cranes as needed
- Maintain established quality and production standards
- Follow all required safety procedures
Qualifications
- TIG welding experience with 304 and/or 316 stainless steel
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to understand weld symbols
- Experience welding sheet and plate materials ranging from 12-gauge to 3/8-inch
- Strong fitting and tacking skills
- Strong fabrication and mechanical skills
- Ability to perform grinding and cosmetic finishing
- Comfortable welding in hard-to-reach areas
- Experience with pipe and tube welding is a plus
- Experience with ASME tank fabrication preferred
- Experience with vessel, skid or process piping fabrication preferred
- Ability to pass a 6G TIG stainless pipe weld test
- Ability to pass a 1G MIG stainless plate weld test
