CNC Programmer
FlexTrades is hiring experienced CNC Programmers for nationwide project-based manufacturing assignments supporting precision horizontal milling operations.
This role is designed for programmers with hands-on Siemens NX experience who can develop tool paths, create and edit G&M code, support machine prove-outs and produce accurate setup documentation for CNC horizontal mills.
Position Overview
The CNC Programmer is responsible for programming horizontal mills using Siemens NX while supporting production readiness from initial programming through machine dry runs and prove-outs.
This position requires strong experience with 3D models, 2D prints, GD&T, Fanuc-style programming and the ability to develop machining strategies that meet dimensional and surface finish requirements.
Responsibilities
- Program CNC horizontal mills using Siemens NX
- Create and edit G&M code for J-TEKT/Toyoda horizontal mills
- Develop tool paths using customer models, prints, tooling data and fixture information
- Determine appropriate fixture clamping and workholding requirements during programming
- Create setup sheets as part of the programming process
- Support machine dry runs and prove-outs
- Validate CNC programs before production
- Optimize existing programs to improve machining performance
- Read and interpret complex 3D models
- Read and interpret 2D prints and GD&T requirements
- Ensure programs meet dimensional tolerance requirements
- Ensure programs meet specified surface finish requirements
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to support production readiness
Qualifications
- Experience programming CNC horizontal mills
- Siemens NX experience required
- Experience creating and editing G&M code
- Fanuc-style programming experience
- Ability to read and interpret 3D models
- Ability to read and interpret 2D prints
- Experience working with GD&T specifications
- Knowledge of machining steel components
- Knowledge of machining aluminum components
- Ability to support machine prove-outs and dry runs
- Experience creating setup sheets
- Vericut simulation software experience preferred
