Cold Header (Setup Level)
FlexTrades is hiring Cold Header (Setup Level) Operators for project-based manufacturing assignments across the United States. This role supports high-volume precision component production using cold heading and cold forming machinery.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates with direct cold header or cold forming machine experience, strong attention to detail and the ability to inspect precision parts using standard measuring tools. Setup experience is not required.
Position Overview
The Cold Header (Setup Level) Operator will set up and operate cold heading machinery, run production equipment, perform tooling changes and support high-volume manufacturing operations. This role requires the ability to monitor machine performance, inspect finished parts and troubleshoot production or quality issues as they arise.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate cold heading machinery, including National, Asahi and Carlo Salvi equipment
- Run 1 to 2 machines at a time
- Perform tooling changes and machine adjustments
- Manufacture high-volume precision components using multi-die, single-blow upset cold heading processes
- Inspect parts using optical comparators, gauges, ring gauges, calipers and micrometers
- Troubleshoot production and quality issues
- Follow all safety and quality standards
- Maintain accuracy, consistency and attention to detail throughout production
Qualifications
- Direct experience operating cold header or cold forming machines
- No setup experience required
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments

- Ability to follow work instructions and production standards
