Laser Punch Operator
FlexTrades is hiring Laser Punch Operators for project-based manufacturing assignments across the United States. This role supports sheet metal production by operating laser cutters, punch presses and automated material handling systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This opportunity is ideal for operators with hands-on laser cutting or punch press experience, strong blueprint reading skills and the ability to move between production equipment while maintaining quality and efficiency.
Position Overview
The Laser Punch Operator will operate Amada punch presses, Amada lasers and Bystronic lasers while supporting material loading, tooling changeovers, quality checks and production flow. This role requires attention to detail, safe equipment operation and the ability to verify material type, thickness and work instructions before processing parts.
Responsibilities
- Operate Amada punch presses, Amada lasers and Bystronic lasers
- Load material into automated laser and punch press systems
- Perform punch press tooling changeovers with training provided
- Operate a sit-down forklift to move and load materials
- Read work orders, drawings, travelers and production notes
- Verify material type and thickness before processing
- Perform basic quality checks throughout production
- Move between laser and punch press operations as needed
- Maintain a safe, organized and efficient work area
- Support production schedules while meeting quality standards
Qualifications
- Experience operating a laser cutter or punch press in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Understanding of quality inspection processes
- Forklift experience preferred
- Experience with Amada or Bystronic equipment is a plus
- CO2 laser experience accepted
- Ability to follow work instructions, travelers and production notes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices
