Welder
FlexTrades is hiring experienced Welders for high-impact, travel-based roles across the United States. Position Overview
We are seeking highly skilled welders to join our team. This role requires expertise in both MIG and TIG welding, with a strong emphasis on stainless steel and tubing work. You’ll be responsible for layout, fit-up, tack, and final welds on large, complex weldments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform layout, fitting, positioning, and alignment of workpieces prior to welding
- Execute high-quality MIG and TIG welds on stainless steel and carbon steel
- Work from electronic blueprints using AWS symbols via the ERP system
- Weld large assemblies (up to 8–10 feet), including tunnel frames and leg frames
- Operate material handling equipment: 5T overhead cranes, forklifts, jib cranes, pallet jacks, and push carts
- Perform single-pass welds in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions
- Handle both fixtured and freehand welding tasks
Required
- Proven experience with MIG and TIG welding
- Strong skills in stainless steel welding, especially tubing
- Ability to read and interpret AWS welding symbols and blueprints
- Comfortable working independently on 2nd shift with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift, move, and position large weldments using cranes and other equipment
- Weld Testing: Upon arrival, candidates must complete two weld tests using the provided prints
