Welder
FlexTrades is hiring Welders for nationwide project-based assignments supporting precision fabrication and industrial manufacturing operations. This role is designed for welders who understand multiple welding processes, can work from detailed shop drawings, and take pride in producing strong, clean welds that meet both structural and visual standards.
If you have experience with MIG and TIG welding and can independently layout, fit, and assemble materials before welding, this opportunity aligns with your skill set.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding using at least two welding processes, with MIG and TIG preferred
- Assemble tube and pipe components in a variety of shapes and sizes
- Work directly from detailed shop drawings and fabrication instructions
- Layout, fit, and tack materials freehand prior to welding
- Grind and finish welds to meet high visual and structural quality standards
- Retrieve and stage materials required for each fabrication project
- Safely operate overhead cranes to move and position materials
- Assist with structural metal welding projects when qualified
Requirements
- Ability to travel nationwide for project-based assignments
- Strong freehand layout, fitting, and assembly skills
- Ability to produce clean, visually consistent welds
- Experience reading and interpreting fabrication and shop drawings
- Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Comfortable retrieving materials and working independently during fabrication tasks
- Ability to operate overhead cranes or willingness to complete training
