TIG Welder
FlexTrades is seeking skilled TIG Welders for nationwide assignments supporting high-profile manufacturing projects. If you’re experienced with stainless steel fabrication and want to earn top pay while traveling, this is an opportunity to put your expertise to work in dynamic environments across the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel components including sheet, plate, tube, and pipe
- Assemble, fit, tack, and weld parts per blueprints, weld symbols, and P&IDs
- Grind and finish welds to meet cosmetic and food-grade standards
- Operate air tools (grinders, dynafiles, cut-off wheels) and overhead/jib cranes (1t–20t)
- Ensure weld quality by avoiding warping, burn-through, and maintaining clean bead appearance
- Work in flat and hard-to-reach positions; overhead welding can be learned
Required Skills & Experience
- TIG welding experience with stainless steel, including tube, pipe, and plate
- Ability to weld from prints and interpret weld symbols
- Familiarity with high-frequency TIG setups and MIG welding
- Experience with P&IDs is a plus
- Comfortable welding in tight or hard-to-see areas; overhead welding can be learned on the job
- Must pass both ASME-standard weld tests: GTAW 6G Pipe Test and GMAW 1G Plate Test
