Test Technician
FlexTrades is seeking experienced Test Technicians for nationwide assignments. This role involves performing test stand and test bench testing on hydraulic components, including bypass valves, sub-components of manifolds, and complete manifolds. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with manual test operations, including setting up test stands, adjusting pressure levels, and working with various testing fluids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform test stand and test bench operations on hydraulic components including bypass valves, sub-components, and complete manifolds.
- Manually set up test stands and accurately fixture parts for testing.
- Conduct tests using Skydrol, TurboOil, Solvent Fluid/Fuel, and Red Oil 5606, heating fluids to precise temperatures.
- Manually operate valves, dials, and knobs to adjust pressure levels ranging from 300 psig to 9000 psig.
- Follow Assembly Test Procedures (ATPs)—both electronic and paper-based—to execute sequential testing steps and ensure results meet defined parameters.
- Record test results on data sheets and perform basic troubleshooting to verify accuracy or identify issues.
- Use tools such as mechanical and digital gauges, torque wrenches, and quick disconnects.
- Lift components weighing up to 42 lbs frequently; team lift or mechanical assistance required for anything over 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing or test environment, preferably with hydraulic components.
- Ability to read and follow detailed test procedures and technical documentation.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with pressure systems and fluid handling.
