
Painter
Location: Nationwide – Possible Jobs in Oregon, California, and Nevada
FlexTrades is hiring skilled Aerospace Painters for nationwide project-based assignments. If you have extensive experience in manual spray painting and powder coating in open and closed booths, this is your opportunity to support high-precision aerospace manufacturing operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in high-precision spray painting, preferably in aerospace
- Proven ability to meet strict cosmetic and weight specifications with minimal to no rework
- Deep understanding of HVLP spray techniques and fluid dynamics
- Experience painting parts with complex geometries and varying sizes
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking in paint application
- Familiarity with MIL spec standards and digital inspection tools
Key Responsibilities
- Apply high-solid polyurethane paints with precision to meet strict cosmetic and MIL specifications
- Ensure proper fluid rate, spray distance, and gun flow to avoid texture and meet weight requirements
- Mix paints and primers precisely per specified ratios, including high-solid polyurethane topcoats and acid etching primers
- Perform visual inspections and use digital MIL spec gauges to verify paint thickness (3–5 mils max)
- Clean and maintain paint equipment, switch filters, and follow all safety protocols including respirator use
- Reference work instructions, mixing guides, and curing specs to ensure compliance with customer standards
