Metallurgical Technician
FlexTrades is hiring Metallurgical Technicians for nationwide project-based assignments supporting advanced materials testing and aerospace quality requirements. This role is built for technicians who understand metal behavior at the micro level and know how critical accurate testing and documentation are to manufacturing performance. If you are comfortable working in a lab environment, following strict standards, and producing reliable data that drives engineering and quality decisions, this role fits your skill set.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and test metal samples including sectioning, mounting, polishing, and etching
- Perform microstructural analysis using optical microscopy
- Conduct hardness, porosity, tensile, and uniformity testing
- Use micrometers and calipers to perform accurate measurements
- Document test results in GAGEtrak and Microsoft 365 systems
- Follow AS9100, ISO9001, and ISO14001 quality standards
Requirements
- Prior experience working as a Metallurgical Lab Technician
- Hands-on experience performing microstructural analysis of metals
- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards preferred
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and follow documented procedures
