CNC Programmer
FlexTrades is hiring CNC Programmers for nationwide project-based assignments supporting precision machining operations across a variety of manufacturing environments. This role is built for programmers who understand how to translate complex engineering designs into efficient toolpaths while supporting production teams during setup and first-article runs.
If you have strong Mastercam experience, know how to program multi-axis equipment, and enjoy solving machining challenges in high-mix environments, this opportunity aligns with your skill set.
Key Responsibilities
- Create new CNC programs using Mastercam
- Program a 5-axis router, 3-axis and 4-axis vertical mills, and a 5-axis vertical mill
- Make minor program edits and adjustments directly at the machine when needed
- Collaborate with engineers to review drawings and 3D models prior to programming
- Select tooling, speeds, and feeds based on material and machining requirements
- Support first-article machining and troubleshoot programming or setup issues
- Develop setup documentation once programs are verified for production
- Perform basic dimensional checks using standard measuring tools
- Mentor and support full-time production team members as needed
Requirements
- Strong experience programming with Mastercam
- Background programming both CNC routers and vertical mills
- Ability to adjust tooling, speeds, and feeds for a variety of materials
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and 3D models
- Hands-on experience assisting with first-article runs and troubleshooting machining issues
- Strong collaboration skills when working with engineers and machine operators
- Experience machining composites or high-density plastics and foams
- Background working in a job shop or high-mix, low-volume production environment
