Stamping Press Set-Up Operator
FlexTrades is hiring Stamping Press Set-Up Operators for nationwide project-based assignments supporting high-volume metal stamping and precision manufacturing operations. This role is built for operators who understand progressive dies, can perform efficient setups, and maintain tight tolerances in fast-paced production environments.
If you have experience setting up hydraulic stamping presses and can troubleshoot issues alongside Tool and Die teams while keeping production on track, this opportunity aligns with your skill set.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate 60 ton to 330 ton hydraulic progressive stamping presses including Minster, Seyi, Bliss, Stamtec, and L&G with Wintriss controls
- Run production using pre-set programs and make minor adjustments as needed without editing programs
- Work closely with Tool and Die technicians to troubleshoot die or quality issues
- Perform press setups, coil changes, and basic material handling using cranes, hoists, forklifts, and pallet jacks
- Complete first article inspections and in-process quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications
- Monitor production output and maintain consistent quality throughout runs
Qualifications
- Experience with progressive stamping presses required
- Ability to work with materials including stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and copper
- Strong understanding of blueprints and GD&T including profile, flatness, and concentricity
- Experience holding tight tolerances as close as ±0.001 inch
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-mix production environment
