CNC Machinist
FlexTrades is hiring CNC Machinists for nationwide project-based assignments supporting high-precision, complex machining operations. This role is built for machinists who are confident running advanced lathe platforms, managing dual operations, and holding tight tolerances in demanding production environments. If you know how to set up, think critically, and keep machines running efficiently without constant oversight, this role fits your skill set.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes, primarily Doosan machines
- Run dual spindle, dual turret lathes with live tooling
- Operate Fanuc-controlled CNC machines
- Perform first and second operations simultaneously
- Edit variables only within existing macro programs
- Review prints, tooling, materials, and process documentation to determine required adjustments
- Perform quality checks and ensure parts meet specifications
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience operating dual spindle, dual turret CNC lathes
- Strong working knowledge of Fanuc controls
- Hands-on experience using live tooling
- Ability to set up machines independently
- Experience machining to very tight tolerances
- Strong blueprint reading skills with solid GD&T comprehension
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Index C100 or C200 lathes
- Background in high-precision or complex machining environments
- Previous travel or contract machining experience
