CNC Gear Machinist
Location: Travel-Based Role with Jobs Available in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania
Pay: $38/hour + Guaranteed Overtime & Full Benefits
Job Type: Contract (3–12 Month Assignments)
FlexTrades is hiring skilled CNC Gear Machinists to support high-precision manufacturing projects across the United States. These roles are ideal for experienced machinists with a strong understanding of gear hobbing and shaping operations, particularly within aerospace and medical-grade production environments. Position Overview
As a CNC Gear Machinist, you will be responsible for the setup and operation of advanced CNC hobbing and shaping machines. You’ll produce small, high-tolerance gears used in mission-critical industries. Successful candidates will demonstrate a deep understanding of gear manufacturing, including pitch, tooth count, AGMA standards, and related inspection processes.
Responsibilities
- Operate up to 2–3 CNC gear hobbing machines simultaneously depending on part specs and cycle time
- Set up and operate equipment including:
- Gleason P-60 Hobber (Siemens controls)
- EMAG Koepfer K160 Universal Hobbing Machine (8 axes, BWO Vector CNC)
- Fellows 10-4 (Fanuc-retrofitted gear shaper)
- Nidec SE (Fanuc controls, 2016–2024 models)
