Maintenance Lead
FlexTrades is hiring experienced Maintenance Leads for nationwide project-based assignments supporting industrial manufacturing and production operations.
This role is designed for maintenance professionals who can troubleshoot complex production equipment, coordinate changing maintenance priorities and provide hands-on technical guidance to other technicians.
Position Overview
The Maintenance Lead performs preventive and reactive maintenance on industrial production equipment while helping direct daily maintenance activities.
This position requires strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting skills, along with experience using PLC diagnostics and working safely with 480-volt three-phase electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on production equipment
- Troubleshoot hydraulic presses and related equipment
- Diagnose and repair robotic waterjet systems
- Troubleshoot bonding and adhesive equipment
- Support automated manufacturing machinery
- Diagnose equipment problems using hands-on troubleshooting methods
- Use PLC diagnostics to identify equipment faults
- Provide direction and technical support to maintenance technicians
- Train and mentor maintenance team members
- Coordinate daily maintenance priorities
- Adjust maintenance activities as production requirements change
- Document completed maintenance activities within the CMMS
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Follow all established safety procedures
Qualifications
- At least five years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Experience maintaining production manufacturing equipment
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Ability to interpret blueprints and equipment manuals
- Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to train and mentor others
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt to changing production and maintenance priorities
- Experience working with 480-volt three-phase electrical systems
