HBM Machinist

FlexTrades is hiring experienced HBM Machinists for nationwide, project-based assignments that support advanced precision machining. If you know how to set up and run a 6-axis horizontal boring mill and keep complex work moving with accuracy, this is the kind of role where your skill shines. You will work with engineered setups, tight tolerances, and high expectations for consistency and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a 6-axis CNC Horizontal Boring Mill with a 3+2 configuration and rotary B-axis table
• Perform offsets and adjustments
• Swap tooling from 2-7 tools per setup and verify setups with a supervisor
• Deburr straight edges, ID and OD surfaces, holes, and other basic features using various tools
• Operate overhead crane and forklift for material handling with training provided
• Conduct in-process inspections and document FAIs while QC performs final inspections

Required Qualifications

• 5-axis HBM machining experience
• Experience with Heidenhain controllers with Siemens acceptable
• Ability to make offsets and adjustments
• Proficient in deburring using various tools
• Basic understanding of GD&T including parallelism, perpendicularity, flatness, and surface profile
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, squares, and tape measures
