Cold Header (Operator Level)
FlexTrades is hiring Cold Header Operators for nationwide project-based assignments supporting high volume forming operations. This role is built for technicians who understand cold heading fundamentals, know how to run multi-die and single-blow equipment, and can hold tight tolerances while keeping production rates high. If you have experience with titanium wire, upset method forming, and quality inspection tools, this work will feel like a natural fit.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate cold headers and cold heading and forming machinery
- Work with multi-die, single-blow machines that use the upset method rather than extrusion
- Handle titanium wire components where the diameter remains consistent before and after heading
- Achieve production rates of up to 30,000 parts per hour
- Perform quality inspections using optical comparators, gauges, rings, calipers, and micrometers
- Maintain a safe and efficient work environment while meeting production goals
Qualifications
- Direct experience operating cold headers and cold heading and forming machinery is required
- Strong understanding of precision measurement tools and quality control processes
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain older machinery aged 5 to 20 years
- Detail oriented with a strong commitment to safety and accuracy
